You may worry that having diabetes means going without foods
you enjoy. The good news is that you can still eat your favorite foods,
but you might need to eat smaller portions or enjoy them less often.
Consume vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, greens, potatoes, corn
which is rich in fiber and starch fruits include oranges, melon, berries,
apples, bananas, and grapes which are rich in vitamins, antioxidants and
minerals. Grains like wheat, rice, oats and protein which includes fish,
eggs, lean meat, chicken, peanuts should be included in your diet plan.
At the same time, avoid processed food which are rich in saturated and
trans fat, sugar and salt.
Along with maintaining a healthy diet, physical activity also plays
an important role in battle against diabetes. Engage in regular physical
activity such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, and dancing,
are excellent for improving insulin sensitivity and controlling blood
sugar levels. It also helps in burning extra calories so you can keep your
weight down if needed, improves your mood and help you sleep better.
Routine check-ups and early detection also contribute to effective
management of Diabetes on longer run.
