National Science Day lecture series

National Science Day lecture series titled “Frontiers in Life Sciences" was held in our college from

12th-21st March 2022, in order to commemorate Science Day. The lecture series was organized by
the Departments of Biotechnology and Microbiology under the DBT Star college scheme.

Volunteered faculties from both the departments delivered lectures in their relevant subject area
as part of the lecture series. Miss Anjelica Matias, Assistant Professor, Department of
Biotechnology gave a talk on “Modern Biotechnology: A sustainable solution”. She highlighted the

scope of biotechnology from the ancient times to the modern era. The different disciplines and
their relatedness to our day-to-day activities was also spoken about. The audience were highly

enthusiastic and interactive in the question-and-answer session.

Ms. Anjelica Matias also delivered a similar talk title “Awareness on Role of Modern Biotechnology

in attaining Sustainability”, organized by the Directorate of Higher Education, as part of their
lecture series for National Science Day. The beneficiaries were students of Government of Higher
Secondary School, Sanquelim, Goa.
