An online interdisciplinary workshop on Biosafety and Laboratory Waste Management was organised by the Deaprtments of Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics, Microbiology, and Physics of St. Xavier’s College, Goa on 10th January, 2022 under the DBT Star College Scheme via an online programme on Google Meet. The workshop comprised three technical sessions: Segregation and Safe Disposal of Chemical Waste; Segregation and Safe Disposal of e-waste; and Biosafety Ethics for Humans and Animals presented by Dr. Mira Parmekar, Ms. Vikita Sinari, and Ms. Jocelyn Fernandes, respectively. The presenters very comprehensively and lucidly elucidated very specific guidelines for identification, segregation, and disposal of chemical, biological, and e-wastes.
