Half day workshop for volunteering trainer resource persons on “Demystifying Research and taking Research to the Doorsteps of Schools”
the Goa State Research Foundation (GSRF)! Established by the Government of Goa through Act 8 of 2022 to promote research in Goa, one of the objectives of GSRF is to instill interest and promote research among School (Std IX & X) and Higher Secondary School Students and Teachers. Towards achieving the same (which will need a pool of experienced resource persons, as the target group is large), as a prelude, GSRF plans to conduct a half day brainstorming workshop for faculty members who would wish to volunteer to engage sessions at a later date related to “Demystifying Research and taking Research to the Doorsteps of Schools”, to High School / Higher Secondary School Students and Teachers.
The half day brainstorming workshop is fixed for 18th April 2024. Details of venue and time, will be intimated separately later.
At the end of the workshop, approaches will be standardised for conducting workshops / sessions for the target groups. This will include the duration, the approach, examples, exercises (hands-on), etc.
With regards to the above, a resource person can be from any academic background from any Higher Educational Institute, or Research Institute, or any other organisation in Goa: (i) with a Ph.D. and engaged in Research, (ii) willing to adapt to different target groups, (iii) able to spare some time for this vital mission, (iv) open to act as mentor if required, and (v) should be able to commit to a minimum of six sessions or two different events in an academic year.
faculty members who could volunteer to be in the team of resource persons for engaging with school/higher secondary school students/teachers, and who in the first instance attend the above-mentioned brainstorming half day workshop.
