Vision:

Training of young people towards academic excellence and equipping them with the abilities to adapt to the dynamic corporate environment.

 

Mission:

To impart holistic management education with a blend of industry experience and to provide students a platform to choose and nurture their carrier.

The BBA programme commenced in July 2007 and has been running successfully for more than a decade. Under NEP it will be a full time 4-year honours programme with eight semesters and multiple exit points as per applicable ordinances.

Orientation Program for First-Year Students
An Orientation Program was held for the First-Year students enrolled in Self-financed courses at St. Xavier’s College, in the Seminar Hall. The program was designed to familiarize the new students with the New Education Policy, the college’s facilities, rules, and cultural activities, ensuring a smooth transition into their academic journey.


Online Session on Stakeholder Management and Business Ethics
On July 26, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, BBA students attended an online session titled “Stakeholder Management, Business Ethics, and the Challenges.” The session was led by Prof. R. Edward Freeman, an esteemed academic at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. The session was chaired by Mr. Nikhil Sawhney, Immediate Past President of AIMA and Vice Chairman of Triveni Turbine Limited.


Online Session with Mr. Saurav Sharma (TEDx Speaker)
On August 3, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, FYBBA students participated in an online session conducted by Mr. Saurav Sharma, a prominent TEDx speaker and industry expert. Mr. Sharma shared valuable insights from the Ramayana, drawing connections between its teachings and contemporary leadership practices. This insightful session was organized by the Goa Management Association.


Session on Personal Finance Management
A session on “Management of Personal Finances” was conducted for students from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The speaker, Marilyn Pinto, founder of KFI Global and author of Smarter, Richer, Braver, shared practical advice on managing personal finances, specifically for young adults and teens. The session provided valuable insights into effective financial management, which will benefit students as they navigate their future financial decisions. The session was was coordinated by Ms. Vanessa Furtado


Field Trip to Indian Customs & Central Excise Museum and Goa Hospitality Show
On August 21, 2024, 45 second- and third-year BBA students participated in a field trip in celebration of World Entrepreneur Day. The students visited the Indian Customs & Central Excise Museum in Panaji, Goa, and attended the Goa Hospitality Show 2024. The trip offered students exposure to key stakeholders in the hospitality industry, such as suppliers, retailers, and hoteliers, while also providing opportunities to practice business networking. The museum visit offered fascinating insights into India’s trade, smuggling, and taxation history, particularly during the Pre-Liberalization Era. The field trip was organized by Ms. Vanessa Furtado.


Pop-up Sale Organized by BBA Students
In collaboration with the Goechim Asmitai Cell, BBA students organized a mini pop-up sale on October 4, 2024, featuring Goan food items. The event was a success, catering to both students and faculty, and showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of the BBA cohort.


Health and Wellness Session: ‘Rejuvenate: Mind and Body Connection’
On October 19, 2024, the BBA department hosted a session titled ‘Rejuvenate: Mind and Body Connection’ in collaboration with the Health and Wellness Club. The session, held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, was led by Ms. Sukanya Majumder and focused on the importance of health and wellness in maintaining a balanced life. The session was coordinated by Ms. Charmaine Dias.


Preparation for MBA Entrance Exams Session
A session on MBA entrance exam preparation was held for BBA and BA students on 1st October 2024. Facilitated by Mr. Malcolm Dias, Director of Time, Goa, the session provided crucial strategies and guidance to help students navigate the MBA entrance exam process successfully. The session was organized by Ms. Vanessa Furtado as part of industry exposure for her course on Interview facing skills and mock interviews.


Mock Interviews for SYBBA Students
As part of the Interview Facing Skills course, mock interviews were organized for SYBBA students to provide them with practical experience. The mock interviews were conducted by industry expert Joyce Gracias Fernandes, with coordination from Ms. Vanessa Furtado. This activity gave students a valuable opportunity to practice and improve their interview skills in a real-world context.


BBA Students Triumph at Cosmocrat 10.0
BBA students achieved remarkable success by winning first place at the National Level Management Event, Cosmocrat 10.0, organized by Don Bosco College, Panjim, Goa, on October 9-10, 2024. Their outstanding performance highlighted their dedication and expertise in management.


Distinguished Alumni Series – 16th October 2024
On October 16, 2024, BBA students attended the Distinguished Alumni Series, where Mr. Kirk Duarte, an esteemed alumnus from Kilowatt, shared valuable insights with the students. Mr. Duarte spoke about the various job opportunities available within his organization, providing students with a deeper understanding of career paths in the energy and technology sectors. His session was both informative and inspiring, offering practical advice for students looking to explore opportunities in these industries.

The program seeks to provide the students with holistic knowledge and opportunities to hone their business skills. Industry experts regularly interact with our students and enable them to develop competencies to address business decisions.

The students are equipped to join at entry level executive positions in the field of marketing management, human resources, financial management, and event management. Students have been recruited in multi-national organizations, Startups and have also ventured into the field of entrepreneurship. Some of the sectors which employ our students include the Banking Sector, Hospitality Industry, Media and Advertising, Manufacturing Industry, Pharmaceutical and Real Estate. Our students have climbed the corporate ladder with a few venturing into entrepreneurship and using their business acumen in expanding their family run businesses as well.

Ask any ex-Xavierite, and they will tell you Xaviers feels like their second home. My favourite part of the BBA course was the inter class and college competitios.
