Department of BBA (Travel & Tourism) was Established in the year 2007 at St. Xavier’s College Mapusa Goa. Between 2007 till 2010 this programme was called as Bachelors of Travel & Tourism Management (BTTM). This Programme is affiliated to the Goa University since its inception. The course strictly adheres to the prescribed syllabus provided by the Goa University. Over a period of time the department has witnessed a good pass-out percentage of its students and they have been well placed within the tourism industry and outside. The course provides the necessary infrastructure which helps in conduct of course in smooth and efficient manner there by contributing to the overall development of the students. The course has experienced faculty which help guide and provide the necessary inputs that the students require for their holistic development

The programme prepares students for positions of responsibility and management in the Travel and Tourism Industry. Employment opportunities are plentiful in the industry as Goa is a state that is known for its tourism industry.
The tourism sector includes Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, Hospitality, Aviation, Cruise Liners, Rentals, and Visitors/Tourism Information Bureaus. Students can venture into business as entrepreneurs as well.The students will be in a position to work at various managerial level in the areas of tourism.
A candidate who has passed the BBA (Travel & Tourism) course will enhance their skills such as Leadership, Communication skill, Teamwork, Business Acumen, Adaptability & flexibility, Customer Service and Cultural sensitivity. These skill sets play a very important role in the development of an individual personality and will help them along way in the tourism industry in specific.
