To provide a well-rounded, high quality educational environment in computer science and to instill in students the attitudes and values, that will prepare them for productive and challenging careers.

The department was started in the year 1994 with a laboratory with 10 computers running Novell Netware LAN. Our first batch of B.Sc. Computer Science passed out in the year 1998. Presently the department has 2 full-fledged, well-equipped laboratories, with online UPS support and internet connectivity. The department has Microsoft Edu-Cloud solutions and popular LINUX distros installed. The department has consistently striven to encourage the use of learning using Microsoft Teams, thereby elevating every student to achieve more and be ready for workspaces of tomorrow.

Guest speakers from industries and other organizations are invited to speak to the students on various new technologies. Training Programmes/Workshops are conducted for students on Web Technologies, Mobile Technologies, Augmented Reality, Network Security, Internet of Things, Data Science etc. Videos, MOOCs are used for training students in recent technologies. The department plans to conduct training on soft skills for students, also subscribe to Online Resource Material and create an departmental online libray where they can access resources.

The job prospects after completing this course are numerous. Students graduating from this department are either pursuing further studies or are placed in well-known software companies, hotel industries and academic institutions. Students can take up employment as Database Administrators, Network Administrators, Computer Scientists, Computer Consultants, Systems Analysts, Software Engineers, Computer Programmers, Web Developers, Graphics Designers, Technical Writers, Desktop Publishers, etc.
